| 'I Tesori delle Biblioteche Italiane' (Treasures of the Italian Libraries) is a Il Bulino / Y.Press publishing initiative, patronised - due to its high cultural and scientific value - by the Italian Ministry of Culture (Direzione Generale per i Beni Librari e gli Istituti Culturali) and realised in collaboration with the Italian historical Libraries. 'I Tesori delle Biblioteche Italiane' is a collection thought for libraries, scholars, book and art lovers, and aimed at enabling a direct, deep knowledge of the major masterpieces of illumination and book art. Illuminated codices and hand-written books in general, are unique pieces of art. Unlike painting, sculpture or architecture, the art of illumination can be admired only partially and in rare occasions. Our collection makes up for these limitations by allowing the collector to build a personal and specific library, technologically innovative, unalterable, easy to use, and composed by the most famous codices among those preserved by the Italian libraries, our 'temples' of written memory: |
